Macks began his recording career in the early 00’s on a Tascam 388 reel-to-reel which he has recently resurrected and made the centrepiece of the Pink Room. He spent his twenties as a musician in bands signed to Mute Records and Universal, recording with producers Dan Grech, Charlie Huggall and Ash Workman.

In his role as a producer and engineer, Macks has worked with artists including, Caroline Polachek, Yellow Days, Oscar Lang, Greentea Peng, Algiers and Moses Sumney.

He also has an ear for developing new talent, and collaborates closely with a tight network of publishers and record label A&Rs worldwide.
